You’ve heard people say that mindset is half the battle and it’s true. You’re only capable of what you believe you’re capable of; you’ll never succeed with the mentality of failure. That being said, how does this phenomenon affect how we view ourselves as people? Can our view of ourselves or lack of belief in ourselves hinder us from the future and greatness we want to achieve? In this article, we’re going to discuss how changing your mindset could help you to become a better person; after all, you’re only as great as you believe yourself to be. Getting in the Right Mindset When you have a mindset of failure or self-deprecation, you’re setting yourself up for failure. It can be tricky to break this pattern of thought, but not impossible. There are a few things you can do to practice retraining your brain to have the right mindset; some may sound silly at first, but they actually work. First off, start each day with a pep-talk in the mirror; remind yourself of your good qualities, your strengths, and what makes you great. Another great way to practice is to cut up a piece of paper into several strips; on each strip, write something positive about yourself; place on the strips in a bowl or container of some sort and pull them out at random when you start to feel the self-deprecation return. Practice regularly reminding yourself of your accomplishments and abilities throughout your day. This will help you see your greatness and positive qualities in difficult situations, each and every day. Believing in Yourself Knowing your self-worth and value is only part of the battle; you also have to believe in your ability to achieve greatness and succeed. If you don’t believe in yourself, you’ll never succeed; you talk yourself out of it and choose to just not try rather than try and fail. The best way to work on believing in yourself more is by reminding yourself of what you have achieved so far and of what you are capable. Always remind yourself that you can do anything you put your mind to and that no challenge is too great for you to try. By changing this thought pattern, you can improve your chances of succeeding and achieving greatness. Keep in mind that this won’t be easy or quick, it will take time. Why Should You Bother? It can be challenging to retrain your brain to think positively, so why should you go through all that effort? Beyond just improving your chances of achieving greatness, there are a lot of benefits you can get out of your efforts to change your thought process to start believing in yourself. When you believe in yourself, you improve your confidence and self-esteem. These qualities make you more appealing to potential employers, life partners, or friends. Believing in yourself can help take you far in life. It can push you to achieve goals, take on challenges, and accomplish feats you never thought possible before. Believing in yourself and changing your thought process can definitely help to lead you down the path to becoming a better person. Our mind and thought-processes are our worst enemies when it comes to our success. They can keep us from taking on new challenges, trying new things, and keep us from achieving greatness. Believing in yourself can improve your self-esteem, confidence, and help to further your life. You can only achieve greatness when you believe you can. So, what are you waiting for? Start boosting your self-confidence, practicing believing in yourself, and achieve greatness today.

From a young age, we are taught that we can be anything we set our minds to. This subtle form of encouragement is rife in children's books, movies, and television shows. However, at some point, adults began to interject this little thing called reality into our psyche. Teachers encourage young adults to deaden their interests and pursue something practical. These young adults eventually grow into individuals with a huge sense of doubt; limiting their thoughts and actions. The Danger in Limiting Thoughts Placing limits on your thoughts is forcing you into a box. This inhibits your ability to connect with others who may be different. As a result, you may judge without understanding. In addition, limiting thoughts can impede productivity. When you meet challenges, you may not have the tools you need to solve them. This could make life and work extremely frustrating. Not to mention, if you don't try new things, you will never progress. Finally, limiting your personal thoughts could damage your self-esteem. You may hold yourself back out of fear. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, or fear of others. Why Do We Limit Ourselves? The act of limiting yourself is learned. Although we are naturally designed with an innate sense of danger versus safety, we are not programmed to doubt. Unfortunately, doubt stems from outside influences. Perhaps your parents held you back from experiencing life. Or, maybe a teacher told you that you weren't good enough. No matter the cause, we all learn how to doubt ourselves from the opinions of others. They learned to doubt themselves from the opinions of others and so forth. This creates a vicious cycle of negativity. So, where does the cycle stop? How to Manifest the "I Can Do Anything" Mentality Since doubt is a learned behavior, self-confidence can be taught as well. In order to manifest this mentality, you have to put in a little effort. To begin, ask yourself, what do I want to accomplish? This goal could be to lose weight, to make friends, or to land your dream job. Write down your goal and post it somewhere visible. Then, figure out how you can accomplish this goal. Ask yourself, what are the steps involved? What do I need to change in order to meet this goal? Once you've outlined your plan, it will be easier for you to execute it. Cultivating an "I can do anything" mentality does not happen overnight. In fact, you will experience many obstacles during your journey that could prolong it. In order to overcome these challenges, you have to be aware of them. One of the biggest threats to honing in on your inner superhero is fear. You can conquer this fear by developing your strengths. Practice perfecting your skill, so you have no reason to abandon it. This will keep your motivation high and improve your self-confidence. Live Your Life Through Intentions The idea of living a life of intent revolves around finding your purpose and sticking with it. It is similar to stating your goals but in a complex fashion. Instead of just stating what you want to do, you engage in heavy soul-searching. This involves understanding your honest and pure self. Once you narrow down what your true intentions are, you are able to take on the world with confidence. You are capable and worthy of doing everything you desire. Other people can encourage you, but the true motivation comes from within. Say to yourself daily, "I am strong, confident, and able to handle anything that comes my way." Repeat this mantra until it manifests itself into your life. Then, you will reap the true benefits of believing in yourself. We live during a time when people are encouraged to express and embrace their individuality. But, have you ever stopped to think about why that is?
What is it about individuality that is so worthy of praise? What makes it so important? Well, frankly, the simple answer to that question is that there is only one you. In order to achieve happiness in life, you have to be yourself and accept yourself and your individuality plays a huge role in that. You have to accept what’s different about you, what makes you unique in order to get the full benefit from it. We all bring something unique to situations; we should embrace that and embrace our individuality. Stifling individuality can lead to depression, traumatization, and can cause you to be numb to others around you, as well as your own emotions. This depression can lead to anger and lashing out at others that are expressing what you’re trying to stifle. It’s unhealthy, while robbing the world of the great things your individuality would bring to the table. It’s important for you to remember and internalize this point, as it is also important to not stifle the individuality of others. We are often quick to judge those who are so comfortable in their individuality that no part of them seems to conform to what society deems the norm; we like to tell them that their wardrobe, hair, or accessory choices offend in some way, that they should conform to our standards. The world needs individuals to continue growing and developing, they will usher us into the next era. For that very reason, it’s crucial for you to embrace your own individuality, as well as that of others. In this day and age, individuality is not only praised but encouraged. What’s causing this surge in denying conformity? Society is realizing that we need individuals and their individuality to carry us into the next era and help us to evolve and grow. Individuality is a crucial thing we all must identify, own, and embrace. There is only one you out there, don’t squander your beauty and power by denying your individuality. |
